Selection of pythons is an art. Yeah. Selection of pythons needs such more pointes with regard to the size, shape, color, nature, type of habitat required for a successful rearing and breeding.

If the skin is with many loosened flakes, don't go in for the selection. Yeah. Diseased snakes may not have a proper ecdysis or shedding of skin. Healthy snakes have a clear and systematic shedding of skin.

Further, the snakes should not have lumps or tissue growths resembling some kinds of swelling on the skin.

One more important aspect is that they have to move their tongue freely. Yeah. The flickering of tongue has to be very fast and the movements of the head region and other body segments have to be fine and snake should make some alert appearance.

For example, if you are moving to select a ball python, you should know that these snakes try to keep away their head region away from your touch and tries to curl.
