Riyadh, Saudi Arabia (July 30th, 2008)

A Saudi Arabian official has declared that the religious police have announced a ban on selling cats and dogs as pets, or walking them in public in the Saudi capital, “because of men using them as a means of making passes at women”.

According to Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice in Riyadh, this order is not a new one this is an old edict issued by the supreme council of saudi scholars.

The main reason for the ban is that some men using pets in public “to make passes on women and disturb families”. No more details are available.

Pet shops of Riyadh ware asked to stop selling cats and dogs. There are few more queries among the pet lovers- what is the fate of the confiscated cats and dogs? and how dog owners are going to exercise their dog if walking them is banned.

This news is quite a shock - and we’re still not sure yet whether the ban applies to cats and dogs that people already own - and if so, what is going to happen to them?

Training cat to use the toilet is an art. Yeah. Training cat to use the toilet is not a so tough one. Many cat owners are worried on how to train the cats pertaining to the usage of toilet.

Now a days, many cat toilet kits are available in the pet shops or toy shops. These commercial kits are more useful for the easy method of training cats.

Amazed? But it is true. Many cats when given a proper training may have this disciplined habit. Such cats are highly liked by many persons.

First you have to slowly move the litter box little closely towards the toilet. The toilet or the bath room has to accommodate the cat toilet kit safely. Never act in a fast manner to remove the litter box.

Yeah… This needs a more systematic approach and hence, the cat may feel more comfortable with the litter box moved little by little.

Slowly you bring the litter box close to the toilet kit, during training of cat to use the toilet. Then you need to raise the litter box daily to a height of about five cms.

Hence, at some point of the week or a month at maximum, the height of both the litter box and the kit may be same.

During these movements, the cat may even try to use the kit as a resting pad prior to the reaching of the litter box. Even you can use newspaper or other materials to raise the position of the litter box, during the training of cat to use the toilet.

Rickettsia organisms and neorickettsia organisms lead to the diseases since they are caused by ticks in dogs.

Among these tick borne diseases in dogs, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever is one of the important diseases caused by rickettsia organisms. Hence, tick borne diseases should not be viewed in a casual manner and they need immediate attention.

First you need to understand on what is the periodontal disease in dogs? This means the diseases present in some or more of the dental structures in the mouth region.

Often the cementum, alveolar bone, periodontal ligament and gingival tissues are affected. It is to be understood that more than eighty per cent of the dogs that have crossed four years of age.
